Description

This Project consisted of renovating and replacing the existing irrigation system, stream, and other water features at the Mildred E Mathias Botanical Garden. The 7.5-acre Botanical Garden was opened in 1929 and serves as a public garden, outdoor classroom, and research facility on the UCLA campus. Work included replacement of the existing stream system, equipment and provision of new irrigation and all new aquatic plantings along the stream and ponds. Removal of existing landscaping (trees and shrubs), grading of new stream layout and depths, provision of new geomembrane liner system and concrete for new stream bed, new rock edging and boulders, new automated water supply and recirculation system; and power into new vault.
