Davenport Park Landfill Gas Control System

Client:City of Long Beach

Location:Long Beach, CA

Description

The site of the now Davenport Park served as a landfill until 1947 and was originally developed in part to offset the loss of park space at Scherer Park when the Long Beach Police Department’s North Division building was built. As part of the Davenport Park (Phase I) – Landfill Gas Control System project, Environmental Construction installed a landfill gas control system on the western portion of the existing park. The system mitigates the methane gases from the former landfill to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.  Overall, this improves infrastructure quality, increases health and public safety, and improves operational efficiency.
